Ancient Indian philosophy says that our existence is merely an illusion (Maya) – it’s just how the ultimate source of energy appears when you look at it through the lens of duality. Everything we perceive and think about is just concepts that our minds impose on our consciousness. Even big ideas like God or the devil are only in our heads as far as we can prove.
Formless Energy and the Dance of Duality: Insights from Hindu Wisdom
The truth is the only thing that exists is formless energy. And we’re not separate beings – we’re transient parts of that indivisible energy in our bodies and minds. Thus, unlocking formlessness is key to transcending dualities like good and evil, cause and effect. Easing anxiety and fear, as our minds create illusions when separating absolute energy into dualities. In formlessness, reality doesn’t change; it has no attributes, space, or time – it’s just quantum fields having measurable and calculatable effects on light and matter in the universe. But when we see through duality, reality is constantly in flux based on what we think is genuine.
In human life, formless energy manifests as spiritual awareness, allowing us to watch life’s drama unfold like a show. The human mind is the highest form of energy, so we can observe this illusion game that the mind plays.
Consciousness and Creation: The Cosmic Presence Within and Beyond
The Hindu ancient texts further say the Creator is present in all its creations. Every living thing is aware and conscious of its surroundings. In plants and animals, that presence is lower – just survival of the fittest. But in humans, the Creator’s presence as the spirit allows the mind to observe, perceive, and conceive the universe.
You are that witness, the spirit, and the soul is that witness-er, a part of the mind in pure consciousness, the individual self-observer of your mind and body, watching all your thoughts. It is that the highest ability of energy, though unaware of itself, can make all living creatures aware, but is most intense in the case of human beings. The reason for being attributed as ‘That art Thou.’ The purpose is to make the mind aware and conscious of everything it perceives inside out.

From Duality to Oneness: The Human Journey of Self-Discovery
Consciousness emerges after the mind becomes aware and goes into duality to make the mind conscious of what it cognitively perceives. It operates in three levels -superconscious when the soul awakens. Higher – is when the mind focuses on the now, and lowest is that realm of subconsciousness. Living in the duality of this and that is to help the mind find that oneness it’s separated from. So, the mind and body go on a rollercoaster ride, leading a material and spiritual life trying to reach the ultimate state of consciousness. You never realize you are that spirit going through a state of beingness in human experiences with a body and mind that you consider yours.
The cognitive mind keeps playing its role in duality throughout life, looking for something it already has. That’s the illusion about what life means and what it’s for. The mind keeps experiencing duality but can seldom grasp the formlessness already in its core. Your mind should make full efforts to strive in spiritual practices with contentment, clarity, and consistency to experience clairvoyance through silence, solitude, and serenity, and with constant endeavor to be selfless for the sake of that ultimate absoluteness in life.
